How we show up imperfectly perfect for Armmageddon
“Praying Hands” colored pencil on paper 90”x30” 2022
There’s an old adage about how you get to Carnegie Hall, which in this case is the Apocalypse we’re brought on ourselves: practice, practice, practice. But what do you practice when the wolves are at the door, the tsunami is coming up from the shore and the only tools you have for self-defense are broken? Broken by misuse, overuse, neglect, they are the wrong tools or you simply can’t find them? Anticipation is a good rule of thumb for disasters of any kind. Practicing anticipation has something to do with paying attention and being thoughtful. Art can help. It arrests the soul long enough to still the heart, quiet the soul and give courage to face the wolves, the tsunami, the sheer risk of being fully alive today.
